Sep 14, 2008. #1. Recently rebuilt the 454 in my 1990 TBI Burb. I am having a terrible time with getting it to idle smooth. The engine has a little over 500 miles on it. I have spent countless hours going over the engine looking for vacuum leaks and believe every thing is OK on that front. I have replaced the engine temp sensor, the connections. JACustomer: I have a 1994 Chevy Silverado K1500 V85.7L truck. It seems to be running rich (the strong odor of gas in the exhaust).I have tried changing the distributor shaft, cap, plugs, coolant temp sensor, o2 sensor by catalytic converter and no luck. and no luck.

I towed it to a friends house that is a ex chev mechanic and he said that it was the fuel pump. I know that these rigs are notorious for going through fuel pumps.
I have a 1995 chevy k1500 Silverado with a 5.7l engine. When in park and you press the gas the engine revs up nice but when in gear if you press the gas at all it bogs so bad it wants to die out and it idles rough in gear also. it is also runningrich. Has anyone had this problem or know what the problem could be. any help is much appreciate.

The Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor senses engine load and generates a signal that is proportional to the amount of vacuum in the intake manifold. The engine computer then uses this information to adjust ...

If you have power at this wire, move on to PIN 3 or the BLACK wire. There should be a ground signal present at this wiring harness. If you have power and ground at these two wires, this means ...
